Our story
RT Martial Arts was built on a lifelong dedication to martial arts. Founded by Master Renato Tavares, a 5th-degree black belt born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, our academy carries more than 25 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the highest level.
Today, RT Martial Arts proudly serves the Vero Beach (Beachside and) and Port Saint Lucie communities with world-class instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA.
Our story is about people. We are committed to helping students of all ages and experience levels grow stronger, more confident, and more disciplined—on and off the mats.

Renato began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in Rio de Janeiro and has dedicated over 25 years to the sport, earning multiple World, Pan, and European titles while training and competing alongside some of the most respected names in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA history.
Renato is widely recognized as an outstanding professor, valued for his dedication to helping students of all ages and levels reach their full potential while enjoying the physical, mental, and life-changing benefits of Jiu-Jitsu.
